When we wrote the Christmas message last year about the unprecedented challenges and changes that we all had to go through, little did we think that 2021 would be equally demanding as the pandemic continued to peak in different countries at various times around the globe.
However, we have been impressed by all our staff’s commitment and dedication which has ensured that we have continued to operate efficiently in very difficult circumstances.
Many of you, both ashore and at sea, have gone that extra mile to make sure you got the job done. Our seafarers have endured extended contracts due to the ongoing crew change crisis and office staff has been working remotely for much of the time, yet during all this disruption we have continued to ensure our clients’ needs have been met with minimal disruption and for that, we would like to thank you all.
As a company, we have been at the forefront in helping to ensure that governments around the world understand the importance of the maritime industry in keeping the global supply chains open and we have been instrumental in helping to set up vaccination programs to ensure our seafarers are protected.
The health and wellbeing of our employees both ashore and onboard is the most important issue for the Thome Group and we will continue to develop initiatives to help them both professionally and in their personal lives and those of their families.
We would also like to pay tribute to our clients, principals, and suppliers who have worked with us to overcome the issues brought about by the pandemic. Working in partnership and being transparent is key to making the Thome Group a company that other businesses want to deal with and we will continue to act with the highest integrity.
Once again we look forward to a fresh start next year when hopefully we can finally put the pandemic to the back of our minds and concentrate on other major issues in shipping related to the environment, especially decarbonisation and reducing our waste to build a more sustainable future.
So, we hope you manage to take time out and relax with your families and we look forward to welcoming you back in 2022.
Happy Holidays and a Prosperous New Year to you and your loved ones.
